History of Chonburi Technical College
Chonburi Technical College has an area of 94 rai and is located at 207 Moo 3, Banbueng-Klaeng Road, Km. 21, Nong Chak, Ban Bueng, Chonburi Province.
The original name of Chonburi Technical College was 'Chonburi Carpentry School' ( 1 August 1939-1955 ), later in 1956 the name was changed to Chonburi Craftmanship School.
1939 On 1 September 1939, the school was first open to primary students who completed Grade 4 for studying 3 - year courses. There were 37 alumni in 1939. They had to rely on Weaver School, formerly Home-making Women’s School, for learning since the buildings were not done yet. After the new buildings were finished in November 1939, then they moved to study at Chonburi Carpentry School. The school rented the land of Wat Aranyikawat (Wat Pa) for building 2 workshops, 1 principal house, 2 teacher houses and 1 janitor house. Mr. Prasat Maksap was the acting principal of the school.
1958 Chonburi Craftmanship School was under District Primary Office project and accepted secondary students.
1959 The government allocated a budget for a school building with 54-meter length.
1961 Opened high school level in 6 vocational programs included Diesel Automotive, Machine Shop. Sheet Metal Welding, Electrical Power, Radio Telecommunication and Building Construction.
All programs were supported machines, tools, experts, scholarship for training aboard. These made the school grow very fast.
1967 The school received 25 million baht for land, buildings, tools, machinery, equipment from Loan for Vocational Education Development Project , Vocational Education Department, the Ministry of Education according to the second national development plan (1967-1971). The school purchased the 40 rai land for new building construction at Nongchak, Ban Bueng, Chon Buri from Dr. Prayot Nueangchamnong, ex-vice minister of industry, and he donated more 54 rai which was the total area of 94 rai. During the time of school was relocated to the new land, the students wore uniform with letters of C B 5, an abbreviation of Chon Buri 5, sewed on shirts. The school flag color was blue-white.
1968 Junzo Sakakura Company designed all the buildings and sent 6 heads of technical department for 1 year training at America.
1969 School buildings, Machinery, Tools were installed successfully.
1970 Changed the name Chonburi Craftmanship School to Chonburi Technical School since 1 October 1970. The letters CT sewed on uniform.
1975 Opened Vocational Certificate level in Part-time Program
1976 Opened High Vocational Certificate Level. The school was renamed Chonburi Vocational College Campus according to Vocational Education Department policy. The changing name event at that time made the students call for changing the school name to Chonburi Technical College.
1979 On 1 January 1979 The school name was changed to Chonburi Technical College.
1982 Opened Certificate of Technical Vocation level.
